I have 7+ years of experience altogether taking care of kids, from being a babysitter to a nanny and then a teacher. I was a nanny for a wonderful family for four years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing fun activities that children will find entertaining while learning. I love to play games where kids learn through play. I enjoy doing arts and crafts with the kids (anything with paint, I love) I also enjoy taking the kids outside to the park to meet and play with other kids.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Understanding boundaries and nurturing. I say this because, being a nanny is understanding that you have to show love and respect to the family. Love, give affirmations, hugs, be there, teach right from wrong and have fun with the kid(s) that you’re taking care of, but also remember that it’s a job. You never want to make a parent feel less than. It’s important to work with the parents and be on the same page as the parents.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when one of the kids I took care of asked me to participate in a role model day she had at her school. That literally made me feel really good inside because I try my best to set great examples in life for everybody around me and for myself.
