My experience with special needs children...
I haven't had the opportunity to take care of a kid with special needs but as I did start a major in Psychology in Colombia I had the chance to have some little experience with kids in different scales of autism and Down syndrome

So many... It's amazing how much we can learn from kids.
There was this time I was sitting at the swing with this 5-year-old kid, and she was trying to make a trick on those gymnastic circles some kid's playgrounds have, and she been trying it for a while; and then she felt, nothing terrible but enough for me to immediately check on her. As I asked if she was okay; she stood up, cleaned her knees, and kept trying with lots of determination and of course she made it and with a huge smile and her face, sweet in her forehead and grass on her knees she looked at me and said: "I didn't gave up!! and I made it!". I was so proud...
There was also this time soon after the Disney movie Encanto came out that we learned the lyrics and every time we had a chance we would sing it together; (as I am Colombian this was kind of special for me)
