More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have extensive experience in childcare, having babysat and cared for children from a young age. As the eldest daughter and granddaughter, I naturally took on caregiving responsibilities early in life, which helped me develop patience, responsibility, and strong nurturing skills. I have provided childcare for children of various ages, from infants to teenagers, and have experience working with children with special needs who required additional care, attention, and support. Through these experiences, I have developed a strong understanding of how to provide safe, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care tailored to each child’s individual needs.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love spending time doing fun, hands-on activities with kids and really enjoy following their interests and energy. Whether it’s going to the park, doing arts and crafts, playing with toys, or sitting down for board games, I’m always happy to join in. I’m flexible and willing to do whatever activity a child is excited about, as long as it’s safe and age-appropriate. I’m good at coming up with creative ways to keep kids entertained and engaged while making sure they feel supported and cared for.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a nanny is understanding that every child and every family is unique, and that care should be personalized to meet each child’s individual needs. Families all function differently, and I think it’s important to be flexible, adaptable, and attentive to what best supports them. My goal is always to provide the best care possible while being a positive and supportive presence in the family’s daily life. I truly want to help the families I work with and show up with a kind, happy, and caring heart. Being trusted with the care of someone’s child means so much to me, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly.
My experience with special needs children...
I have meaningful experience caring for a child with special needs through helping to care for my cousin, who has Down syndrome and autism. He is nonverbal and requires additional support, which allowed me to gain hands-on experience with essential daily care routines including diaper changes, meal support, dressing, bath time, and bedtime routines. Through this experience, I developed a strong sense of patience, empathy, and adaptability, as well as an understanding of the extra care and attentiveness some children require. I am grateful for the perspective this experience has given me and feel confident providing compassionate, individualized care to children with diverse needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite parts of being a nanny is watching children grow and develop new skills. Seeing them gain confidence, reach new milestones, and thrive brings me so much joy. I truly feel it is a privilege to care for other people’s children and to play a supportive role in their learning and development. Being part of those meaningful moments is incredibly rewarding and is what makes childcare so fulfilling to me.

Live-In Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Phoenix, AZ: Sonora A.
Hi! My name is Sonora, and I’m 22 years old. I’m the oldest of four siblings and have been caring for children most of my life, from helping raise my siblings to babysitting and working as a preschool teacher for a year. I grew up in a small town in Oregon and also spent some time living in Hawaii with my mom, which helped grow my love for being outdoors and staying active.
I’m a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and previously worked as a pediatric medical assistant in Central Oregon, an experience I absolutely loved. I later returned to elder caregiving, but my passion for working with children has always stayed close to my heart. My dream is to one day become a mom, and until then, I would love to help a family by creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for their little ones.
