I have been a CASA volunteer since January of 2019 advocating and caring for children in the area who have been abused or neglected.
I have also been a Young Lives volunteer since August of 2019. Young Lives is a ministry that mentors teen moms and their babies.
I am also on the childcare rotation at my church and regularly care for newborns - preschoolers.

Going on walks and bike rides. Going to the park and playing outside as much as possible.
I like to read books to children of all ages and for the ones that are a bit older, I like to have them read the books aloud.

My experience with special needs children...
One of my CASA children has autism. My interactions with him are limited to the requirements by Texas CASA, but I have been able to have conversations with his foster parents and have become familiar with his specific needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment about caring for kids was when one of the children I was babysitting for weekly drew a family picture and put me in it. It was a small gesture, but it was a touching moment for me to know that my time with them was meaningful.
