My experience with special needs children...
While lifeguarding at Cordelia Pool in Noda, I was able to teach swim lessons to a few special needs children. I very much enjoy helping to create a universal experience for all that are involved in activities with me. Getting to help accomplish the swimming goals of children that are more sensitive to the aquatic environment is very rewarding for me as as someone who thoroughly enjoys working with all people, especially children.
In addition to this group setting experience, I have babysat/nannied for a family that has a nonverbal autistic son. I have also helped take care of my two cousins who have autism spectrum disorder assisting with life in general and more specifically online learning during covid.

In the past I have nannied for family friends and every morning when I would arrive the children would wait for me at the door. Having such excited little people waiting for me every morning was always a nice way to start my day.
