A little bit about me

I am a bubbly, personable, and compassionate caregiver who loves bringing joy, creativity, and learning into children's lives. With a background in healthcare and childcare, I enjoy creating age-appropriate activities, preparing nutritious meals, and establishing routines that foster a safe, loving environment.

I love embracing my inner child through imaginative play, arts and crafts, music, outdoor adventures, and interactive learning. My childcare philosophy centers on understanding each child's personality, needs, and developmental stage. Whether nurturing infants, encouraging toddlers' curiosity, supporting school-aged children's academic growth, or fostering independence in older children, I strive to make learning fun while helping every child feel valued, confident, and loved.

Outside of childcare, I enjoy country two-stepping, volunteering at my church and a food pantry, speaking Portuguese, baking, painting, reading, traveling, and spending time with my family and cats.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My professional background includes full-time and part-time nannying, summer nannying, babysitting, tutoring, ESL homeschooling, and substitute teaching. I have cared for children ranging from infants (8 months) through teenagers, including managing multiple children, supporting developmental milestones, planning educational activities, and providing academic enrichment. My teaching experience includes classroom management, lesson planning, differentiated instruction, and language development. Additionally, my healthcare background includes working as a medical scribe, patient observation lead, and endoscopy technician. These roles strengthened my skills in patient care, medical documentation, safety protocols, communication, and responding to diverse needs. Together, my experiences in childcare, education, and healthcare have equipped me to provide well-rounded, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love incorporating reading, storytelling, music, dancing, arts and crafts, sensory play, building projects, imaginative games, and outdoor adventures into children's days. I also enjoy organizing scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, age-appropriate science experiments, museum outings, playdates, and water activities. I especially enjoy introducing children to different languages and cultures through interactive books, songs, nursery rhymes, and hands-on activities. I love embracing my inner child and making learning fun through creative, engaging experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, and new skills!

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most to me about being a nanny is building meaningful, trusting relationships with children and becoming a positive, consistent presence in their lives. I cherish the opportunity to watch them grow, discover their personalities, reach developmental milestones, and develop confidence in themselves. I believe children thrive when they feel safe, loved, heard, and encouraged to explore the world around them. I want to create an environment where learning is fun, curiosity is celebrated, and every child feels valued for who they are. More than anything, I hope to leave a lasting positive impact by not only caring for children but also nurturing their hearts, minds, and individuality.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with diverse learning, developmental, and behavioral needs, including autism (Level 1), dyslexia, ADHD, and behavioral challenges. I understand that every child learns, communicates, and processes the world differently. I strive to create a patient, supportive, and structured environment while adapting my approach to each child's individual strengths and needs. I enjoy finding creative ways to encourage learning, build confidence, support emotional regulation, and foster independence. I believe in meeting children where they are and celebrating their progress, no matter how big or small.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moments are hard to narrow down because I genuinely treasure them all! From witnessing the little girl I nanny take her first steps and say her first words to making homemade applesauce together every Monday, each milestone holds a special place in my heart. One of my proudest moments was hearing her say “Halmoni” and “Haraboji” (grandma and grandpa in Korean) for the first time. We have worked so hard on her language development, incorporating different languages through books, songs, nursery rhymes, and everyday conversations, so hearing her use those words almost brought me to tears! I also love hearing her say “¿Dónde?” as we read ¿Dónde está Pajarito?, watching her make new friends, and seeing her learn to dance alongside me. Being part of her growth and celebrating these little victories is what makes nannying so special!
