More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
During my high school years, I nannied 3 young children alongside my mom. We worked with one family for 4 years with children, ages 1 month- 4 yrs old. I have volunteered babysitting children in church groups, foster homes and Sunday school consistently for 10 years. I became a summer camp counselor shortly after high school and was responsible for caring for children ages 5-12 years old. I was then a preschool teacher’s assistant for 4 years, a summer camp counselor for 2 , and a summer camp lead manager/ front desk manager. I have taught, cared for and supervised kids ages 0- 12 years old.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing arts and crafts and going on fun adventures. I would love to take them on activities like going to the park, swimming, and walks. I enjoy reading stories and teaching academically challenging games that help children learn and having fun doing so. There are so many different ways you can make learning academics, life skills and manners fun for little ones.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing about being a nanny is to be that person that both the child and parents can trust always. It’s about protecting the child and making sure they are happy in a loving and nurturing environment. Nannying is not just about watching a child, it’s about caring and loving them. It’s about teaching them not just basic life skills for their age but also showing them healthy boundaries and kindness.
Nannying isn’t always just about the child, but also the parents. The parents need to know their child is with someone who they can trust to watch, guide and care for their little one. Communication is one the most important things in nannying. Not just for the parents but for the child as well. I believe that if you have clear communication with the parents and the child, that is the key to a healthy and nurturing relationship for all involved.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I was watching a 2 year old little girl who I had been caring for since she had been born.
I was putting her down for nap and she looked up at me and said Ms. Julie, I love you forever and gave me a kiss on the cheek and hugged me so tight. She held my hand until she had fallen asleep and I knew in that moment that she loved and trusted me. As little as she was, she knew she was safe, cared for and she trusted me as her caretaker and be her
safe place. It was this day that I knew I had chosen the right job and knew one day I wanted to have a family of my own. She is one of the sweetest kids I’ve worked with, and caring for her gave me the inspiration to be a teacher.
And still to this day when I visit her, she runs and gives me a big hug.
