"Julie is a thoughtful, warm and nurturing caregiver with a love for children and a natural way of caring for them, playing with them and engaging them. She has two nieces whose lives she has been very involved with, so her relationship with our two daughters was an easy connection. She has helped us with our kids since our youngest was a toddler, but she has lots of experience with babies as well. My daughters love her! She always makes a point to come to their birthday parties and remember their special days. We love Julie and trust her with our kids!"

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Crafts are my specialty!
I also love involving kids in baking if it’s something their parents are comfortable with.
I love to read books, go to parks, play pretend, sing songs, and make up stories and sing lullabies at bedtimes!

The most important part about being a nanny...
Respect the parent/primary caregiver’s structures and boundaries for their kids. Kids need consistency, and it’s important that I maintain that.
Love those kiddos. When I develop a relationship with the kids I watch, the more invested I become in them. The more invested I am in them, the more the are receptive to me and that’s better for everyone! I’m not just there to observe, but to engage and stimulate!
Patience! Sometimes a kid isn’t a fan of me at first. But who could blame them? I’m a stranger, and their favorite person just left them with me. Respecting their boundaries but also encouraging them to engage takes a lot of patience, but eventually, we always get there!
Finally, communicate! If your little only got 2 hours of sleep last night, I’ll want to know that. In the same regard it’s really important for me to let you know if they missed their nap or had a potty accident.

My experience with special needs children...
Autism, Down syndrome, dyslexia, processing disorders, ADHD, severe attachment disorders, and non verbal children.
I have some to moderate experience with all the above.

Favorite moments:
Toddler I watched was languages delayed and after months of watching him become frustrated, not being able to communicate what he wanted, one day he just had this explosion of words! It was amazing, and he was so proud of himself. It was incredible to watch his little self develop over the next few days and weeks!
Also a favorite:
Sweet baby boy (4mos) wouldn’t calm down for anyone but his mom at an event the family had invited me to. But mom was busy! He wouldn’t even settle for dad! I offered to take him and try to coddle him - he was happy as could be when I took him! I felt so loved! It felt amazing to know that I had fostered a safe space for him - so safe that he was happy snuggling with me until mom was free to feed. He was my best friend ❤️
