I am a retired RN with experience caring for the newborn in a maternal child in patient setting. In addition, I am a mother of 2 grown children, and a proud grandma of two grandsons. have recent and local nanny experience and I have obtained my connections through working with Nanny Lane for several North County families. It is my desire to continue to interact with all of my previous clients, and to hopefully establish a network of local families throughout the years to follow.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I do a lot of imaginative play through storytelling and play acting. Creative activity is universally enjoyed by all age groups. Art and hands on activities stimulate the brain development and I am aware of the developmental needs which occur in the early years. I think learning needs to be fun and should be multi dimensional and age appropriate. Above all, safety needs to be paramount in all aspects.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a Nanny that truly is involved with each unique child is so instrumental in the development of secure self esteem and the awareness of the needs of others/ If a child is shown consistent nurturing ad love, they have a far better chance at becoming a happy and contributing individual. Children learn what they experience.
My experience with special needs children...
I cared for an infant with achondroplasia for several months..........and I helped her until after her 1st birthday. She thrived and achieved many milestones during that period I was with her.
