Hi, I’m Kadee! I am a 19 year old looking for a part-time nanny job.I have a year of college under my belt, including early childhood development, and psychology. I have formally worked as a babysitter from years 16 and up; that is, including kids with disabilities and/or learning problems. I have also worked at a daycare/preschool as a teacher. I truly love working with kids because they are the light of the world. They are honest, open-minded and creative! And I love to encourage that same uniqueness for every child I meet. Introducing them to routines, self-Independence, and self-compassion, as well as incorporating academics.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love creative play. Whether it’s imagining the slide as a waterslide at the park to
pondering the world around them with asking open questions. I want to
Inspire independence, compassion, and creativity with children. I also enjoy adding academics to real-life experiences; example, counting how many leaves are on a flower, describing the flower. Talking about shapes and colors. I want to go at each child’s pace for exploration and teaching, no matter where they are at. I will challenge them to their best abilities and enjoyment :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

As a nanny, I believe I can influence and impact the attitudes, behaviors and atmosphere of the children. And what I want them to experience is an enjoyment of life, through creativity, exploration of senses, and communication. However, although all of that is definitely important; to me, the most important part, is loving the child.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with a child with a learnin, disability and early onset ADHD. I also have worked with a child who had a trach and was nonverbal. Alongside that, I have also worked with a few autistic children who were nonverbal as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when I was working with a four-year-old, who was somewhat nonverbal. We had been working for a long time on expressing feelings. Since he wasn’t always able to express or explain them, I was able to come up with a coding system with him to explain where he is at emotionally. For example, blue would be sadness, and he would draw a blue picture. He would draw a smiley face based on his mood or what he wanted. To me, this was amazing when he was able to tell me how he was doing with a picture and able to explain what the picture was. I also loved every moment when I came through the door and the way he said my name “kah- deedeeee” :))
