The most important part about being a nanny...
Patience, patience, patience!!! Kids can be overwhelming and frustrating sometimes but it is so important to me that they recieve understanding and guidance instead of punishment. They are learning everything for the very first time and I want to have a hand in making them functional, happy adults one day, not anxious ones who struggle to ask for help.
My experience with special needs children...
I don’t have any technical professional experience with special needs children but I do have an uncle with Down Syndrome, my family is very close so I spend a lot of time with him and help my grandma with him when I can. My sister is also high functioning autistic and struggles with social situations so I have experience with helping her to navigate the world a little easier.
