More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have 2 younger siblings (7 and 4) that I played a pretty big role in helping raise. I also have a lot of young neices and nephews that I've been helping with since they were born. I really miss being around all those kids and would love to be able to find a family that needs full time or part time help!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Arts and crafts, learning, and playing outside are all very important for children in my opinion. I love taking the kids on nature walks, finding new parks for them to play at, and just finding a way to be outside.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is making a positive impact on the family's life. It takes a village to raise a kid and I firmly believe that every person a parent allows to be a part of that has a responsibility to be the best person they can be for that child. Whether that be teaching them everything you know or showing them every drop of love you have. Nannys might not be biologically related to the kids they watch but with time the familys you work for start to become a big part of your life. I don't think you can be a good nanny without having a good connection with every parent and child. I also think that being safe is a very important part of being a nanny. Leaving your child with someone you haven't known long is very scary. It's important to be to do the best I can to reassure parents that I'll keep their kids safe and happy.

My experience with special needs children...

I used to work with my mom when she was ananny to a pretty big group of kids. One of those kids had non verbal autism. When we first started watching him he didn't like to play with the other kids and had a very hard time communicating. Through a lot of love and patience we grew to be people he trusted and he began making great strides in his therapy. He also started playing with the other kids. Sometimes on good days we'd even find him laughing, dancing, and singing.. One of the hardest challenges to overcome was learning how his brain worked so that I could help to prevent blow ups and bad days. Watching his progress was one of the most beautiful and fulfilling things I've ever been a part of.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment happened in June. When quarantine started in March I lost my job as a server and started being a full time nanny for a family friend. Leilani was the sweetest little girl I've ever gotten to nanny but she was a big mommas girl. If she was awake when mommy left she would stand in the window and cry for about 30 minutes. I still remember the day that I got there and she was standing in that same window waiting for me for the first time. When I opened the door she smiled so big and when her mom left she didn't even notice.
