A little bit about me

I am a mother of 3 needing to work while doing online schooling for medical billing and coding. My children are all just about grown so I'm close to being an empty nester 😆. My daughters are 25, and 22, then I have my 10 year old son left at home with me, soon to be all grown up, he already thinks he is sometimes 😆 😢 I use to babysit when I was younger, I've worked with kids and adults with disabilities when I was younger. I am CPR / first aid certified it expires in September of 2025.

When I was younger I also worked at different daycare facilities. At age 10 I was running my own babysitting business only charging $1 per hour per child 😆 I've been a great mother so my children all say, kinda makes a mommas heart filled with love and joy to hear your grown and almost grown children tell you that. I would take care of any child as if they were my own.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Playing games, although I'm the one in charge, I tend to let the children take the lead when it comes to playtime, and I just join in and play games with them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

You are an extension of the parent. It's important to be a good role model because children tend to mimic what they see and do. I call it monkey see, monkey do 😆 kids are so impressionable, it's an awesome responsibility to rear food upstanding productive members of society and it all starts when they are young.

My experience with special needs children...

I grew up with my younger sister who has disabilities. I was her caregiver when my mom was at school or work. Although, I was young at the time, I had to grow up fast to help my mom because my brother's would always take off and leave me with her and thankfully I was responsible enough to keep her safe and fed until my mom came home, I would also help out with her therapies that we would need to do at home with her feet, and we would also need to practice her speech therapy with her as well. The other children I have worked with have all been in a facility called Tiny Tots was one of them, and it's been a while, I can't remember the name of the other facilities. I have also worked with disabled adults.
