My niece Heather is special needs; she is 24 but has the intellect of a seven year old child. When I cared for her, I bathed her; helped her use bathroom. Helped her with word games and puzzles to help her learn. She is my angel, she is a gift.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One night, it was very late, and we had a bad thunderstorm. I was a live in Nanny, so both kids come running into my room. They were scared and crying about the storm. So I built a blanket and pillow fort and we all got inside. The kids light up, no more tears, and I love that I could do that for them.
