A little bit about me

I have 7 plus years of experience working for 3 families as a nanny. 2 children started with me as babies and stayed with me until school age. I am available Mon - Saturday as early at 7:00 am and as late as 7:00 pm and I am willing to help with most requests.

I am a mother of 2 beautiful grown girls. I am enrolled online and currently taking early childhood classes along with a first aid class that includes certification for infants and children. I was a Sunday school teacher for the 3-7 yr olds for several years until I changed churches in 2020. I love being a young nana to a very active 8-year-old boy with some behavioral challenges, which he is learning to manage quite nicely.. Children are very special people and deserve to be raised by those who strive to understand their needs. My goal is to be the best caregiver I can be with continuing education classes and an open mind. I am a crafter, an animal lover and a non-smoker!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was recently a foster parent for St. Louis County and cared for a 15 yr old for nearly 2 years while her mother cleaned up off drugs and I was the Sunday School teacher for the 3-7 year olds for 5+ years.

Crafts are my specialty but I love to be active outdoors whenever time and weather allows.

The most important part about being a nanny is providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for the children under my care, meeting their individual needs while maintaining good communication with parents.

My experience with special needs children...

My grandson was born 2 months premature and has 4 different types of ADHD. He has behavioral challenges to say the least but he and I do well together! I have taken an Allison course on behavioral challenges in youth.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite memory is when I was when I brought bubbles and a bubble making gun to work with me. Baby Owen hadn't seen bubbles before. The bubble gun put out about 1000 bubbles per 5 seconds. When I showed Owen how it worked he squealed with delight and laughed and clapped so hard he almost fell over! I still have the video!
