A little bit about me

Hello! I have been a nanny 5 years. Most of my experience has been with infants and toddlers and would hope to match with the same again. But have recently worked for a family with boys ages 11 and 13 and I am currently working for a family with children ages 4 and 8.
My latest CPR and 1st Aid certification was Sept 2023, with the plan to re-certify again.
I do not have my own children but find great purpose in loving and taking care of children whose parents are busy in their careers, and maybe even have to travel often for their career. I will clean the areas of the home the kids and I stay in. Laundry and grocery shopping as needed. I believe in the importance of socialization and going to the library, parks, and on playdates to increase development.

She engages in age appropriate activities with them, has boundaries so the children respect her, cleans up after herself and the kids and overall loves children as her own. I never had to worry or have anxiety when Karlynne was with my son. She is very much missed since moving away but we’re thankful for occasional visits! My son talks about her all the time."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started babysitting at age 12 and continued through high school. Dog and house sat once I had my license and could drive myself.

After college, I worked in an after school care program for a semester for a part time gig because I wanted to be around children. And during my professional years in banking, I took a year off to serve in AmeriCorps that focused on working with at risk youth grades 6-12 in a local charter school in the Wausau school district. This was a full time position as a mentor/teacher in the classroom, while at very minimal pay. The idea is to offer volunteer services and give back to the community, when in turn I am learning and gaining valuable experience.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Basically anything the child enjoys. I enjoy being active and taking them on playdates, running errands, and to the park. Going outside to play in the sprinklers, ride bikes, or chalk art. Or staying home to read, get creative with crafts, creative free play, or cuddling up for a movie. I'm good help with accomplishing homework. Or spending time with a toddler to encourage walking and talking.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Connecting with the child(ren) so they feel safe, loved, and accepted. A wholesome foundation is what will allow the child to feel comfortable to experiment and learn about the world and who they are.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked a 6 month contract for two boys, ages 11 and 13, diagnosed with autism, along with multiple medical issues. Dates Sept 2025 to March 2025.

The most important part about being a nanny...

This feels impossible to choose just one moment! I have a toddler that I've cared for since she was 7 months. Being present for the little things like learning to feed herself, standing for the first time, making a new sound, excited to arrive at the park, running in the yard with the dogs. Any moment I have witnessed her discover something new is precious.
