More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am currently a preschool teacher! Before moving to my current class, I was a teachers aide for an infants and toddlers class. I always get asked which age group is my favorite, but the truth is each age group is special and has their very own sense of self! For example, I do love seeing my infants develop new skills! I also enjoy answering all the “why” questions my toddlers have, and I cannot get enough of having fun conversations with my preschoolers!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some indoor activities I enjoy doing with children include creative art and sensory activities. I find that creative art allows for our little ones imagination to open up and they are able to create anything they want with a beautiful story behind it. Sensory activities/toys help plenty with allowing our children to stimulate their five senses.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters most to me about being a nanny is building a positive relationship with the families. What makes my heart skip a beat every single time, no matter how many times I hear it, is when the children give me a big hug and tell me “I love you, Ms.Kassy”, I cannot get enough! Those three words mean the most to me because they reassure me that I am doing a great job and sometimes I forget to remind myself so.
My experience with special needs children...
I have two nephews, one who is on the spectrum, and another who has ADHD. During a point in time, my sister was working from home, and she was not able to fully accommodate to my nephews needs at the time, (3 and nonverbal and 9 ADHD). I moved in with her for about 7 months and my duties included joining my nephews during their speech and behavior therapy and continuing their therapy exercises at home on our own. As of right now, I have a couple of students on the spectrum in my classroom, one student with social anxiety, and another student with down syndrome. I accommodate each of my students due to their learning level.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have more than one favorite nanny moment, but if I had to choose one, it would be experiencing one of my littles first time going potty on the toilet! It was a heartwarming experience and I definitely cried a little because she had NEVER gone potty before! It was a lot of trial and error before we got to that point and it wasn’t easy, but it sure was worth it.

I have always had a passion for working with children and helping them learn, grow, and feel supported. Growing up with a 10-year age gap between my younger brother and sister and me gave me the opportunity to play a big role in caring for them. From assisting with daily routines to keeping them entertained and encouraging their development, those experiences helped me become patient, dependable, and nurturing.
