I have worked in the special needs arena for 8 years. My current position is with a young adult who has Cerebral Palsy. He is non verbal, and wheelchair bound. I provide all physical care including. Shower, restroom, meds, tube feeding, advocate in public setting such as appointments, and accompany him to work. I have also worked one on one with a 9 year old who was a non verbal and severely autistic. Im a board member Of the South Carolina Disabilities board , Called partners in policy making. Our goal is making changes at the state level for the disabled.

I was a nanny to a little girl for 3 years. Her mother was newly widowed. Harps was only 2 when I started with her. By far my favorite memory with her is when she finally took her training wheels off her bike. Seeing how proud she was reminded me why I do what I do.
