A little bit about me

I'm an early childhood educator with a big heart for the little ones! I have experience in home daycares and private preschools, specializing with the infant and toddler age groups. I'm not just about meeting basic needs for your little ones, though. I am very passionate about creating fun learning opportunities from which your child can explore their interests and develop a love for learning. I can't wait to meet your family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have accumulated 198 practicum
hours as an ECE intern throughout my time as a college student. During which, I worked under the guidance of two separate mentor teachers--an owner of a local home daycare and a toddler teacher at a university-accredited preschool. I currently work full-time as an Infant and Toddler teacher at a corporate preschool and have been in this position since February 2024. Prior to my career in ECE, I volunteered as a camp counselor, working with school-agers at a summer youth leadership camp for the BSA.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. I am experienced with developmentally appropriate curriculum, so I understand that every age requires different types of activities. I value all forms of play! Though, personally, I enjoy manipulative or sensory play--hands-on is the way to go!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Knowing that your quality interactions are shaping little minds and hearts. Being a nanny is more that caring for the child's basic needs; it matters most that the family feels confident in the level of care you provide.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience in this aspect is limited, in that I have not yet had the opportunity to truly work with special needs children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

At my job as an infant and toddler teacher, I experienced for the first time what it was like to have a "school baby." At our center, a school baby is a fun way us teachers express how a student displays a close affinity for a particular teacher. My first school baby was Jolene--a sweet, 1-year old girl with the cutest personality. It feels very gratifying and joyous when you enter the classroom and your school baby is there with the biggest smile and wiggly excitement over your presence. Jolene made it worth coming to work just by how much joy she displayed in our interactions--from the giggle-fits over a game of peek-a-boo to the outstretched arms in my direction whenever she was in need comfort.
