A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Kat and I am a current undergraduate student at Gettysburg college. This summer I will be based in Gettysburg. I have been involved in childcare in many different environments for more than 7 years. I have developed a great deal of patience and passion for exploring the world with all ages of children. I have experience in teaching and mentoring in a traditional school setting, as well as experience in non-traditional learning styles. I love to work not just with kids, but also with families, helping in whatever ways I can! I also have my Pennsylvania child abuse and FBI fingerprint clearances. I am looking for work this summer with the possibility to continue in the fall, depending on my school schedule.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I spent the summer of 2023 teaching in Norfolk VA. I taught through a program called Breakthrough Collaborative, teaching 7th grade language arts as well as cooking classes. In the fall of 2023 I taught weekly at VIDA charter school, focusing on literacy of social issues as well as building a library for the school. I have worked privately for families between 2017 through 2023.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love fostering the imagination of children through both educational and free play. On nice days, I find it's exciting to head outdoors to explore the world and play in nature.
