Hello! My name is Katie and I’m so excited to meet you.

I’m 32 and a momma to the sweetest 3 & /2 year old boy who would be joining me on my adventure. The more the merrier right? :)

After working in healthcare for almost a decade, I was laid off several months ago due to offshoring. Since the layoff, I started going back to school (online) for my bachelor's in healthcare administration!

I’m looking for a family I can work with long term that will be understanding of my current situation and wants to build a really strong working relationship.

I have taken early childhood education college courses and currently work with my son on a secular preschool homeschool program and absolutely LOVE getting creative and doing fun projects and crafts! I’m more than happy to assist with cooking and cleaning, and anywhere else I can help make life easier.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Growing up I helped nanny/babysit my three nephews and niece, and in high school part of my senior project was volunteering at the children’s afterschool program where I would help serve snacks, do crafts, supervise playtime, and assisting with parent pickups. As a parent, I have been thru my own personal journey with my son and caring for him. Most recently I nannied part-time for the cutest 1 year old before she was accepted into daycare.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Getting creative with crafts, adventures, and learning is my favorite! I have so many Pinterest boards filled with fun activities I’ve found over the years. I enjoy finding local events to take my son to, the library has fun free activities for kids. During nicer weather we are at the park everyday. We love going to the zoo, aquarium, children’s museum, science center, really anything fun and engaging for their little minds! Since we do our at home schooling, I also enjoy teaching and exploring new ideas and conversations with them. Kids are so smart and I love encouraging them to keep learning and creating!

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have extensive experience, however in high school I did work in the special needs classroom for a semester and absolutely fell in love with everyone. It was such an honor to work alongside their teachers and aides who had the kindest hearts, and taught me a lot about patience and understanding. I know I would be able to care for children with special needs given some guidance and education.
