A little bit about me

Hi I am Katie Stephens. I’ve been working with kids since 2019. I graduated high school in 2021. While I was in high school I took an Early Childhood Education program and loved it. The program was a preschool and I did hands on learning and activities with the kiddos. After I graduated I went to college to continue my education in ECE but I am currently not attending college. I worked in a daycare for about 2 years with babies and toddlers. Currently I am working for Mentor Public Schools as an assistant teacher for children who have autism and have been since October of 2023. I absolutely love working with kids. I don’t have my own so working with and bonding with the kids I work with make it seem like they are my own.

I was a lead teacher at a daycare for about 2 years and found a new opportunity in the Mentor school district as an assistant teacher to children who have autism. I’ve been in the district since October of 2023.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy going to parks, going for long walks, making fun crafts, having a fun movie day with a homemade snack. I love everything fun !

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked for mentor cares since October of 2023 and this is a school specifically for children who have autism ranging from kindergarten to age 21.
