The most important part about being a nanny...
I was a nanny for a young girl and her younger sister. When I started my job, they fought a lot after spending a bit too much time together during the lock down. On day one, the older sister would hit her younger sister. That stopped right away. The verbal fighting was far more difficult to manage. After a big fight between them, I asked why she was so upset with her sister, and she said because her parents are always focused on her now. I kept asking questions until she was finally able to say exactly what she was really upset about. It wasn't her sister's fault, it was just that she missed her parents and wished she could spend more time with them.
I saw as she finally had the chance to say what really hurt and found a way to work through her anger to uncover the real reason she was upset. Sometimes kids don't know why they're angry, and when appropriate, need the time to voice that anger so they can understand why they're really mad.
