More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I ran the Healthy 2B Me Summer camp for children whose families are experiencing poverty in the Tucson, AZ area. I also Interned as a CASA for the Denver CASA program.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to be outside! I used to take the last boy I nannied to play a variety of sports in the park, took him swimming, to playgrounds, etc. I also really enjoy museums and find that it is great to start taking kids at a young age - they are so interested in learning and so curious! I also really enjoy reading books, love to do arts and crafts, and teaching them the importance of "cleaning as we go. I would love to learn what activities you feel are most beneficial for your child's development!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I would say letting each kid become their own individual, is most important. We are all so different and unique and kids are the most likely to be their own person and comfortable in their own skin. I think it is so important that we recognize those differences and celebrate them, this allows kids to grow into strong, confident individuals. I always like to start off by observing the kids in any "free time" to see what they naturally gravitate towards. I can then plan activities according to their interests that will keep them engaged and help them grow!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The little boy I nannied until January this year, just turned 6! I decided for his birthday I wanted to take him on a birthday trip to the arcade. We had such a great time together. Once we got home I asked him to show me his presents and asked which his favorite was - he stated, "my favorite present wasn't really a present, it was us hanging out today!" That was the BEST feeling. Since then, about once a month he asks me to take him on a "date" to the arcade!
