Not everybody is meant to be a nanny it takes patience staying on your toes having to pay very close attention To play care of the children it's always best to be interacting with the children. Basically care for them as if they were your own but with boundaries
My experience with special needs children...
I cared for children who have a medical condition called hydrocephalus which means they were born with fluid around the brain so they have a pump placed in their head that helps drain the fluid from their head. Because of the condition he is also legally blind, autistic, also has an arm and leg shorter than the other so I have to cook, an help bath.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Just excitement and happiness they give when they see me. I would have to say my favorite moment is when Ryan sees me he lights up and laughs uncontrollably just by us looking at each other or me saying his favorite phrase "there went my night"! I also cared for a young boy that his first words where my name, that was a special moment! My all time favorite moments is when the children you caring for find the excitement an joy when you are around an want to be apart of whatever they have going on whether it be coloring or just wanting to show you what they've learned, etc! Just being able to show me there personalities and feeling safe, comfortable to open up is my favorite!
