My experience with special needs children...
I’ve volunteered at a special needs school for younger kids ages 4-7. I set up board games and physical games. I played games with them, set up drawing activities, played music. Got them to write their favorite things. I also handed out snacks and red them books. Lastly, I helped them write out sentences.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was when I watched over a friend’s children about 4 and 6 year old boys. At first they were shy and didn’t want to speak to me. But then they saw me playing the Minions game on my iPad and they wanted to play. I told them we have to introduce ourselves first and then I could teach them how to play. They had trouble taking turns because they started fighting over who was playing first and the longest. So I told them they have to take turns and that no one can play if you don’t learn to share with one another because both of them could play one at a time. And before they left they drew a picture of me with them and gave it to me as a gift.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Atlanta, GA: Tori J.
I’m a recent college graduate with a degree in Biology, currently pursuing a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences. During the week, I work as a dental assistant, gaining valuable hands-on experience as I prepare to apply to dental school, with the goal of specializing in pediatric dentistry.
From 2014 to 2024, I taught competitive dance and led classes for girls ages 5 to 18 at my mother’s dance studio. This role sparked my passion for working with children and helped me develop strong communication and leadership skills.
I’ve also worked as a summer camp instructor and served as a STEM educator for underprivileged students in the Atlanta Public Schools system, where I led science-based activities for students needing extra academic support.
These experiences have shaped me into a patient, compassionate, and engaging educator. I’m deeply committed to helping children grow and thrive — and I look forward to continuing that dedication through a career in pediatric dentistry.
