I worked for a single mother of four, and she had a “very challenging son” or so she told me. Every time I worked with her family, she was always impressed by his behavior and how well he did. I never labeled him a challenging, troublesome or bad. He was an active boy, who had two older sisters and one younger. He needed love and attention, and went after it by any means necessary. That baby boy is now 17 years old and that blows my mind, but I am thankful for the opportunity I had to get to know him and let mom see him in a different light.
