While I do not have a formal daycare background, childcare has been a major responsibility throughout my life. I helped raise my younger siblings from infancy through childhood and have cared for children in both long term and occasional babysitting settings. I have experience with newborns, toddlers, twins, school aged children, and children with special needs. In addition, my experience as a live in overnight caregiver strengthened my patience, attentiveness, time management, and ability to handle high responsibility caregiving environments.

I enjoy activities that encourage creativity, learning, and fun while also keeping children engaged and comfortable. Some activities I enjoy include coloring, Play Doh, arts and crafts, reading, movies, outdoor walks, imaginative play, board games, word searches, helping with homework, baking simple treats, and creating calming routines for bedtime or quiet time. I enjoy adapting activities to fit each child’s personality, age, and interests.

The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, dependable, and supportive environment for both the child and the family. Children deserve patience, emotional safety, structure, encouragement, and someone who genuinely cares about their wellbeing and development. I believe trust, communication, reliability, and adaptability are essential when caring for children, and I always strive to be someone families can feel comfortable relying on.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with ADHD, autism, and Down syndrome, including caring for one of a set of 3 year old twins with Down syndrome. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of patience, consistency, emotional awareness, clear communication, and creating environments where children feel safe and understood. I understand that every child has different needs, routines, sensitivities, and strengths, and I always approach caregiving with compassion, flexibility, and attentiveness.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite parts of caregiving is watching children slowly become comfortable enough to fully be themselves around me. Whether it is helping with a bedtime routine, hearing them excitedly tell me about their day, or seeing a shy child become more confident and open over time, those small moments of trust and connection are always the most meaningful to me.
