The most important part about being a nanny...
Respecting the child’s boundaries that you are nannying for. Kids remember everything. Even if they do not speak much about it, they will remember. You have to understand that children are sponges with educational information and if you respect them, they will respect you. Speaking calmly and softly. Reassuring they’re doing well. Asking THEM for permission, all setting an example of the respect that you desire!
My experience with special needs children...
I myself am a high functioning Autistic human! It really helps me to understand kids a lot more, even my own! When we have the joy to be around special needs we share moments of understanding and vulnerability (especially with new faces). Special needs is obviously an umbrella term, in which I am willing to learn the needs of any sweet angel!
