Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have experience providing before- and after-care through my church, where I helped supervise children, keep them engaged, and assist with their daily routines. I also come from a large family and have years of hands-on experience caring for my younger siblings, including toddlers and young children. In addition, I have babysitting experience with children of different ages and am comfortable with meals, playtime, naps, diaper changes, homework help, and maintaining a safe, positive environment. I have also completed DCF early childhood education coursework, which strengthened my knowledge of child development, safety, and age-appropriate care.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I was raised with strong Southern values and believe children benefit from spending plenty of time outdoors, exploring, using their imagination, and simply being kids. While technology can have its place in moderation, I enjoy encouraging hands-on play, outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, reading, and activities that help children learn, build confidence, and create lasting memories. I love keeping kids active, curious, and engaged instead of relying on screens for entertainment.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a nanny is being a positive role model and someone children can look up to. I want to help teach kindness, respect, responsibility, honesty, and good manners while making sure they have fun and enjoy being kids. I believe children learn best through spending time outdoors, exploring, using their imagination, and creating memories, not just through screens. My goal is to be actively involved in their lives, encourage their curiosity and confidence, and provide a safe, loving environment where they can grow.
My experience with special needs children...
I previously worked as a caregiver through the Consumer Directed Care (CDC) program, providing one-on-one care for an adult with medical needs, including epilepsy. My responsibilities included assisting with daily living activities, meal preparation, mobility assistance, medication reminders, and staying calm and prepared during medical situations. This experience strengthened my patience, responsibility, and ability to provide safe, compassionate, individualized care. Combined with my DCF early childhood education coursework, it has helped prepare me to confidently care for children with a variety of needs.
