More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have babysat for two families. One for a few years where initially the boys were 3, 5 and 6 until the time they were 5, 7 and 8. I still offer to babysit for this family in a pinch. I also babysat for another family that had a 6 month old girl and two boys that were 2 and 7. I only babysat them for a couple months while their parents found a new daycare provider. I also spent this last school year assisting in a classroom setting where we had 10 preschool age children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Usually with the older boys we would go to the skatepark, watch tv, have dance parties, play hide and seek, read before bedtime. Things like that. The younger boys liked to play more with toys or watch tv. If their parents wanted more stimulating activities we would color/draw, sometimes play board games, and do homework like activities or actual homework if they had any.
My experience with special needs children...
I grew up in a household with two special needs step siblings, one autism spectrum disorder and the other had cerebral palsy. I helped their mom out with them both a lot, medications, feeding, etc. We also have a special needs girl in our class and I am learning a bit of sign language to help communicate with her.
