More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve cared for children who have special needs/been on the autism spectrum. Those experiences taught me that there are so many ways we can communicate with others and the world around us!
I also frequently babysit for parents who go out of town and need someone to cook, clean and take care of their kids for a few days.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

My absolute all time favorite thing to do with children is craft! I love making things, painting, and being creative. I am a big fan of reading so books are also a fun activity to do with kiddos.
I also love going outside and having picnics, playing with toys, swinging, and enjoying nice weather.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part is nurturing the kids you nanny. I always want the children I am around to feel safe, loved and cared for. Being a kid is the best part of life in my opinion and I want to give kids positive memories of fun and feeling loved from their childhood!

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve cared for a 10 year old boy with ASD for a couple summers. He was so fun to be around. We would frequently go to the aquarium and parks so he could swing. He loved being active outside!
I have also cared for a 17 year old boy with Autism and Down Syndrome. I was asked to watch him for 12 hours a day, three times a week. We would go to a local ymca to play basketball. He also loved going to the trampoline park. I was expected to administer any medications he needed as well as help with light cleaning and meal prep.
I also was an assistant in my high school’s special education department for 2 years! Which most definitely was my most favorite part of my high school career. Such sweet spirits and I miss those kiddos every day.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One night I was watching 5 kiddos and we were playing a board game, and the youngest child (18 months) rolled right over the board. The four older kids, instead of getting upset, all tickled, cuddled, and kissed the baby. Such a heart warming moment!!
