Hi, my name is Kennedy! I love working with kids and I have my bachelor’s degree in psychology at NC State University. Additionally, since I’m a little younger in age I have the ability to really connect with kids. As a former student at NC State, I was able to develop a breadth of skills while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have experience taking care of kids through babysitting my younger siblings. As a teenager, I worked with the 3-4 year old age group of my church’s daycare. While in college, I participated in College Mentors for Kids where I worked with elementary school aged children to engage them in various career fields (specifically STEM). I was also a Registered Behavior Technician for over two years and worked with a variety of kids with autism ranging from 2-16 years old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

One thing that sets me apart is that I love making fun activities for kids to stay active. Additionally, I am a huge fan of arts and crafts! I am very flexible with kids’ interests whether it’s watching a movie or making friendship bracelets.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is making sure your kids feel safe even when they’re away from their parents. To me, I do this by being incredibly understanding and patient. Additionally, having fun in a safe way & engaging in active communication with the parents is incredibly important to me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have significant experience caring for children with special needs due to being a registered behavior technician. In this role, I learned protective strategies to maintain the safety of myself and the individual engaging in dangerous behavior. Additionally, I developed experience navigating behaviors associated with autism and oppositional defiance disorder.
