Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love spending time with kids and creating fun, often slightly chaotic, activities that keep them entertained and engaged. Whether it’s getting covered in paint during arts and crafts, embarking on a wild nature walk, or turning the house into a scavenger hunt maze, I’m all about making memories.
Imaginative play is a must, too, whether we’re building blanket forts that could rival any castle or having a pretend tea party with stuffed animals as VIP guests. For some active fun, we race through sprinklers, play tag, or go on bike rides that usually turn into mini adventures. And don’t even get me started on science experiments, volcanoes, slime, you name it. At the end of the day, the goal is to make sure we’re having so much fun that they don’t even realize they’re learning along the way!

The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a nanny is like being a front-row spectator at the best show ever—watching kids grow, learn, and thrive every day. The most important part? It’s all about creating a safe, loving environment where their curiosity can run wild. You’ll spend your days guiding them through new milestones, whether it’s learning to tie their shoes or conquering their fear of the dark. There’s the constant challenge of balancing fun with structure—keeping them entertained with crafts and games while sneaking in moments of growth and learning. But the real magic happens when you see the lightbulb moments—their first word, first step, or when they finally master a new skill. It’s about watching them evolve, building confidence, and being a part of their journey. And while there’s always a bit of chaos along the way, nothing beats the reward of seeing them thrive and knowing you’ve played a part in it.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a younger brother who is autistic and schizophrenic, along with a high functioning autistic sister.
I learned the importance of patience, flexibility, and creating a calm, structured environment that helps them feel safe and comfortable. Whether it’s using sensory-friendly activities, adapting communication methods, or finding ways to engage them in their own time, I always try to meet their unique needs. The key is building trust, so they both feel supported and valued. I’ve found that with the right approach, we can make meaningful progress together, and seeing their growth and happiness has been incredibly fulfilling.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when a little one I cared for finally read their first book all by themselves. We had been reading together for months, practicing letter sounds, pointing to words, and making up silly stories with the pictures. One afternoon, they picked up a simple picture book and, without prompting, started reading the words aloud. It was like a lightbulb went off, and I could see the excitement in their eyes as they realized they were reading. The best part? They turned to me afterward and said, “Look, I’m like you now!” I couldn’t help but smile, knowing that I had helped guide them to that moment. Watching them discover something new about themselves was truly heartwarming, and it reminded me of how rewarding it is to be a part of their journey.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Richardson, TX: Aida G.
I'm a junior at UT Dallas, double majoring in psychology and child development. I'm passionate about working with children and plan to become a behavioral therapist to help children with autism, ADHD, and similar needs thrive in their environments. I've had the privilege of working with kids of all ages through tutoring programs and my church, where I've developed strong skills in communication and adaptability. Additionally, my experience at an ABA clinic gave me hands-on knowledge in supporting children with autism. I'm eager to continue building my skills and contributing to the growth and well-being of children, and I'm always looking for opportunities to learn and make a difference. I am hoping to start off as an occasional babysitter. Reach out if you need a babysit for the weekends!
