The most important part about being a nanny is to make sure the kids are safe and taken care of all while having fun. The biggest thing for me is to be inspiring and uplifting even when the child is feeling down or isn’t a happy camper.
My experience with special needs children...
When in hisghschool I had an open period where I would often go and be a teachers aid in the special education classrooms. I learned to understand them and understand their needs. My main focus was to find things they liked to do and try my hardest to relate to those things so they can all feel included!
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moment as a nanny was when I was babysitting a little girl who had some health problems. She was about 6 years old and loved to play dress up. I cared for her a lot while she was going through her treatments. The day she had cut her hair she asked her mom if I could be there with her because I made her feel special and beautiful even when she didn’t feel like she was. Since that day I made it my mission to love and inspire every child I work with. That little girl has since passed away but her family to this day 3 years later still invites me to family gatherings.
