More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have seen children in many different settings with various types of versions of them, I have worked with children in the at home setting where I was a summertime nanny for 2 boys, for three summers, (which has been my favorite setting to work in), then I have also worked in the school setting where I worked in a elementary school for 3 years and was a assistant teacher, during the school years of high school. Also worked in my districts summer recreation programs, for 2 years where I was a t ball coach, then after high school I started working at a childcare center where I gained experience in all age groups but primarily through the toddler age groups, where I am the lead teacher, and completely fell in love with working in early childhood education, but it’s not my favorite setting because it limits me to having a deep connection with every one of my kiddos, and not enough time of they day to be able to build strong relationships, that’s why I believe being a nanny best suits me!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love being able to do anything outdoors whether it’s walks or playing on playgrounds, and enjoy creating that environment for the children to learn from the outdoors with hands on learning and activities! I live a very active lifestyle and love playing hands on with the kids whether it’s running around or going to the park and playing together! And very big arts and crafts kind of person where I enjoy painting and anything that is fun and even messy at times!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Creating a loving environment for the kiddos and being a bonus safe place for them when mom and dad are at work. Kids thrive off of a deep caring relationship with people who become part of their everyday lives and find comfort with me. And being able to build a strong relationship with each child I care for.
My experience with special needs children...
I was the special needs child, I have adhd and I have been diagnosed since I was in elementary school, I know what it feels like to have people taking care of you and not understand how your brain works, and look at you as a misbehaving child, or a child who is just “busy” and not know what you need when it come down to things with overstimulation and stress and anxiety, I want to be able to create a healthy and loving environment for the kiddos that I struggled to have growing up.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I was a summertime nanny and my kiddo took his moms phone and called me and said “ when are you coming back I miss you” and it had only been Saturday and it wasn’t even a whole day without me yet! lol
