Being able to adopt to individuals needs and preferences to ensure each child gets the best experience. Adapting to their interests, skills, and challenges is important to ensure they enjoy themselves while also not shying away from healthy challenges. Watching kids become more comfortable with themselves, grow as people, bond with others, and become more independent is the best part.

I work with children with mental and developmental disabilities as a caregiver and camp counselor for weekends and up to a week at a time. This included activities with them as well as full caregiving, from bathing to eating.
