My name is Kiara and I have worked at many daycares and I was recently just a behavioral tech. I’ve been trying to get certified to be a RBT and expand my career in that. I love helping kids just being able to help them grow and learn this world is something I love doing. Kids bring out the best energy in people I believe and so I try my best to always help. The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is being there. Nannies are supposed to show up and help out when parents can’t or are busy. So just make sure that the child/children always have your attention and time.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children was a great experience to learn how to help control your emotions and the child’s. At Autism & behavioral spectrum we did therapy for kids on the spectrum but it was through play. Which means that we did a lot of playful therapy sessions, like getting a client to roll a ball directly at you or another peer. We also were no restraints so it helped me learn different ways to help kids instead of traumatize them by trying to restrain them. I also learned a lot about naturalistic teaching and discreet trial teaching. I learned so many new methods and ways to interact with all kids and that was a great experience. I’m very experienced with working with special needs children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is when I was teaching my first kid that I ever nannied how to write his name. It was such a sweet wholesome moment because the excitement he felt when he did it I could feel it and it just warmed my heart up. That’s always been my favorite moment.
