The most important part about being a nanny...

Any position that involves caring for others requires, in my opinion, a balance of compassion, positive reinforcement, and a healthy discipline/ structure when appropriate.

My experience with special needs children...

I have one special needs child in Aftercare sometimes; it took time and patience to learn his needs. I have no special training in this area, but as I got to know him, we developed a positive rapport.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I haven't been employed as an official " nanny," but I have lots of experience with children. One of my favorite moments in Aftercare happened on a very windy afternoon. A child, very seriously, felt the need to tell me she "would not be playing today, just enjoying the wind, if that was okay!?"
