Creating amazing memories for the children and making them feel safe. This age is so essential for their development and I want to make it so they have great times to look back on. I had a nanny as a child and she still comes to our holidays and family gatherings because my siblings and I loved her so much. She is a part of our family now.

Many of the children in the psychiatric unit had emotional regulation disorders and some had autism. I was trained to accommodate their needs as best I could.

I was baby-sitting near the holidays and I decided to show the child I was caring for how to make paper snowflakes. We made so many little snowflakes and the child started to laugh because she loved them so much. She began to toss them at me to have a “snowball fight” and tossed some back, and we both just laughed.
