I’ve been a certified babysitter since November of 2015 and have been very active. The longest that I’ve been with one family would be for about 2 years. I’ve also done some volunteer work at MCRD for battalion events.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am open to anything that the children enjoy. The basics such as tag, hide and go seek, or even just watching TV. Anyway that makes them able to interact with me comfortably, I’ll do my best to make happen. I enjoy basketball and other sports as well!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being able to contribute not only to the children but to the whole family and their system is the most important thing to me. Not many families would ask for a nanny that is unwilling to help out. I enjoy bringing a sense of solitude because I know what it’s like to have working parents. I’d love to be more than a nanny to children. What I would like most is to be an older sister who they count on whenever necessary.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment as a babysitter I would consider to be very bitter sweet. The family that I had babysat 2 years for heard that I was moving. The day that I was supposed to get on the road, I heard a knock at the door. My sister opened it and I heard “Is Kiona here?” with the highest sincere voice I’ve heard from a child. I ran downstairs and gave them a really big hug. They told me they loved me and that they would miss me. To this day I am still in touch with that family.
