A little bit about me

Hello! I'm Kira. I have 20 years of experience with child care. Starting at age 11 with an infant brother, my parents had me get certified in CPR, which I've maintained since. Babysitting jobs for neighbors and family friends followed through high school and college. In college I studied psychology with a focus on childhood development. I worked in a mentoring program and a work-study program tutoring children at a local elementary/middle school. I have obtained several certifications for disaster/trauma/emergency first aid, health and safety, parent communication, and techniques for encouraging positive behavior. I have experience working in schools with children K-12 as a para educator which included supervising large groups and more often working one on one with SPED students following their IEP. My most recent experience with children has been as a nanny/babysitter, which I have found to be my niche. I like to be invested with the parents in helping their children succeed.
