Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love Baking, Creating music and Art related projects with children. When summer comes around I love helping the children build sand castles, play pirate (only if the parent says its okay), I love going to the park and playing on the swings with the children or aiding the children if they cannot push themselves, I love cooking and having the children weigh in on what they want to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I do so by giving them an option of meals that are healthy and filling and they have the choice to help cook or draw a picture of their meal :) I also love making every encounter engaging so the children are having fun and arent bothering their parents while they are working :)
The most important part about being a nanny...
is ensuring the family, not only the children. but the family feel safe, secure, and happy that their nanny is doing her job and making the children happy as well.
My experience with special needs children...
Both jobs i worked were with one family. The children had sensory processing disorders so when dealing with them, I had to be a bit more sensitive and understanding that they don't understand their feelings as of yet, and their reaction to things are going to be more heightened.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment was when i helped the children bake a cake for their mom for her birthday and they were super excited to bring it upstairs to her and share it with the neighbors.
