A little bit about me

Hi! I recently graduated with my B.A. in Psychology and have a strong passion for child development and caregiving. I’ve worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), have nanny experience, and I’m currently working in a Head Start program supporting young children in their early learning and growth. I have also completed DCDEE Health and Safety in Child Care training and Abuse Prevention Systems Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Training.

I take a whole-child approach to care, focusing on supporting emotional, social, physical, language, and cognitive development in a way that feels natural, nurturing, and fun for each child. I enjoy building meaningful connections with children and creating an environment where they feel safe, understood, and encouraged to grow.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Registered Behavior Technician (March 2025 - February 2026)
As a Registered Behavior Technician, I worked directly with children with developmental disabilities, helping them build communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills. I implemented individualized treatment plans and provided one-on-one support to help children reach their goals.

Pre-K Teacher
(March 2026 - Present)
As a Pre-K teacher, I supervised and cared for groups of young children while supporting their educational, social, and emotional development. I managed daily routines, led learning activities, and maintained a safe and engaging classroom environment.

Nanny/Babysitter
(2020 - Present)
As a nanny, I provided individualized care tailored to each child's needs, including supervising daily activities, preparing meals, and supporting routines. I focused on creating a safe, nurturing environment while fostering children's growth and development.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy incorporating art, music, and movement, construction activities, imaginative play, and outdoor activities into children's daily routines. I intentionally use these experiences to promote cognitive development, problem-solving, motor skills, social-emotional learning, and creativity in ways that are both engaging and age-appropriate.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is being a positive influence in a child's life. Young children are constantly learning from the people around them, so I believe it's important to support not only their physical needs but also their emotional, social, and cognitive development.

I strive to help children express and regulate their emotions, build communication and language skills, strengthen fine and gross motor skills, and develop problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. I take a whole-child approach, focusing on the skills and confidence children need to thrive both now and as they grow.

My experience with special needs children...

I have both professional and personal experience working with children with special needs. As an RBT, I was trained to support children on the autism spectrum and implement individualized behavior plans. As a Pre-K teacher, I work with children with a variety of needs, including autism, speech delays, ADHD, and other developmental differences.

Personally, my younger sister has disabilities, so I have spent much of my life helping care for and accommodate her needs. That experience has taught me patience, empathy, and how to recognize and respond to each child's unique way of communicating and interacting with the world.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny experiences was caring for a family with three young girls. After getting to know them over several weeks, my favorite part was arriving in the mornings and being greeted with hugs and excitement. The girls often didn't want me to leave at the end of the day, and their oldest daughter even told her mom that I was the best babysitter ever.

Moments like those are especially meaningful to me because they show that I've built trust and created a safe, supportive environment where children feel comfortable, valued, and cared for. Those small connections are what make working with children so rewarding.
