A little bit about me

Hey! I’m Krissi Dillow, and I am a Virginia Beach native! I’m currently studying Hospitality and Tourism Management at Virginia Tech, focusing on Events and picking up a minor in Marketing.

I’m naturally organized and tend to be a planner (definitely a Type A personality!). I absolutely love spending time with kids of all ages and am looking for a family that shares similar values, where I can care for their children just like I would my own one day.

One of my favorite things about babysitting and nannying is teaching kids basic skills and important life lessons, like being kind to others. I also love connecting them with nature and getting them involved in activities I enjoyed growing up. I'm excited to find a family that I can really bond with!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have lots of volunteer work with children! At my local church I grew up at i began taking care of the toddlers and teaching Sunday school at 14! When i turned 16 I became the kindergarten group leader.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

With the kids I have taken care of I have really enjoyed going out and exploring with them. A few of my favorite memories include taking them to First Landing State Park and finding fun rocks and shells in the sand! Just getting them out into nature and showing them all the beauty there is. As well on days where it’s to warm or rainy arts and crafts days are my favorite to have! Letting them use their imagination and creating something fun. Also the occasional movie day, building a fort and getting snacks! There’s so many more activities that I enjoy but those are a few

My experience with special needs children...

I don’t have major experience with special needs children other than through out my schooling years I built many connections with those with specific needs in my classes. At my high school I created a talent show that partnered up with the theater department where special needs students could get up on stage and have a chance to showcase whatever they wanted! After that took off and I saw how important it was to our special needs friends that they got to make connections, I partnered up with one of the faculty members and started a reading buddy program, where you could spend your study block with them and it started out with reading and flourished into just time to spend with your buddy once or twice a week and brought so much life to their days.
