I am currently in undergrad at UofA for Medicine. Growing up I had three younger brothers and a lot of younger cousins I was left in charge of. I babysat for neighborhood families around me relatively often. During COVID both my parents got sick and I was in charge of caring for all three of my brothers. The youngest at the time was one years old. I have a lot of medical training as well thanks to my mom and previous jobs. I am also a specialized tutor for students with learning disabilities in multiple subjects. I am confident I can be of service to many families!

I have always treasured working with children. They make me so happy. When I took Kristi Almeida-Bowin’s infant studies class I was so inspired when we learned the RIE and Reggio Method. Having babies’ rest comfortably stretching and moving their arms and legs freely in harmony with their bodies. Infants have an inner-balance and we should let them move in their own way and in their own time. The best life expression to me is, “If you lose your balance or fall, the best thing to do is get up and move on.” I also know that babies learn more and faster in infancy then in any other time in their life. This is why I love this stage of development so much. The RIE and Reggio approach encourages infants, children and adults to trust each other. Children learn to problem solve, and embrace their ability for self-discovery. When we as teachers allow children to unfold in their own way and in their own time they discover and bring about the best in themselves and others.
