A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Kristi Meier, and I'm the mom of 3 amazing grown children, former teacher, weekend artist, and paint & sip instructor. For the past 5 years, I've chosen to continue my work with kids as a nanny. I love all things relating to kids, and feel very comfortable taking care of infants, toddlers, and school age children. I enjoy reading to kids, and teaching them to read. Creativity ranks high on my list as I love to spend the day doing crafts with my sister, decorating for holidays, and diving into a new painting. Family game nights are a big favorite of mine, with all the laughter and bonding that comes with it. Being healthy, active and energetic is also important to me, hiking with my dog on a daily basis, and staying on the go with my husband of 35 years. These attributes all mesh into my experiences as a nanny, bringing nurturing care, a light and joyful heart, and creative fun.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Teacher for Kindergarten, P.E., 2nd grade and 3rd grade. Private art instructor. Art teacher for small groups of children from 3 years old to 16 years. Art docent at local elementary school. Volunteer at church nursery and childcare.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading, arts & crafts, going to the park, outings at local libraries, and excursions at play facilities. I also enjoy games, helping with homework, and teaching household responsibilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

While enjoying my time with the children is so very important, and building strong relationships and trust with them, I feel the most important thing about being a nanny is to be someone the parents trust with their children. I want the parents to have full confidence that their children will be loved and well taken care of so there is no worry when they are not with them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when one of the twin toddlers I'd worked with since he was an infant told me "I love you Kiki. You're a good person." My heart melted.
