My experience with special needs children...
I previously was a behavioral health technician where I worked with kiddos who had intellectual disabilities as well as learning disabilities. I worked with children with ADHD, ODD, Autism, and Conduct Disorder. I also worked in a school where I provided support in an emotional support classroom and assisted with the autistic support room. I have years of experience helping to de-escalate a child who is dealing with big emotions that they struggle to express in an appropriate way.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Coming up with the most ridiculous and funny games that entertain the kids and making them laugh. The bonds that are formed are unmatched! It’s the best feeling when a kiddo shows their trust and love for you as a nanny.
