Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have interned at an elementary school for kindergarten in junior year of highschool. I also before this was a camp “buddy” for children with autism at a summer camp called F.A.C.T. , where I would teach kiddos how to play fairly, learn social skills, and over all have a great time with people who may want to interact with them. Lastly I have many younger individuals in my life over at my parents house who I have in the past been very grateful to babysit for!!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing arts & crafts, going to parks, doodling, singing to music/karaoke, baking, watching movies, and even a bit of both video and board games with the kids u watch! I think it’s great stimulation for them :)
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing is definitely not just having fun, but also staying safe while doing so! The safety of a child is a key role in a child’s life as they are still young and are also still growing/developing! I strive in making sure each child is stage, in sight, and of course having fun all at the same time.
My experience with special needs children...
I have been a camp volunteer at F.A.C.T.! It’s A camp for kids with special needs (specifically autism) and they go to places like the YMCA, playgrounds, and even other camps where they’ll be paired up with kids who are more neurotypical. And I was the one who would be able to engage with these children with special needs and play games, teach them basic social skills, and even just being a kind play mate!
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I was watching my family friends daughter, she wanted to play a game of pretend, and oh boy was this a wild ride!! She was SO hyper and just living it up. I found it super hilarious as she was using a piece of toilet paper rolls as an item and called it her dog, haha. Good times, am I right?!
