Hi! My name is Lais. I’m a warm, caring, patient, and dependable person who genuinely enjoys caring for others. I’m originally from Brazil, where I worked as a nurse, and I have several years of experience supporting both children and adults with different needs.

I have experience working with children, including individuals with autism and other disabilities, and I’ve also received ABA training. I enjoy playing, going for walks, spending time outdoors, preparing meals, and creating a safe and positive environment where children can feel comfortable and supported.

I’m also a mom to a young daughter, so I understand personally how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your child. I’m respectful of each family’s routines, values, and parenting preferences, and I always try to care for children with kindness, patience, and attention. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Brazil and several years of experience working with children of different ages, from newborns to school-aged children.

I previously worked as an English teacher for children and also taught in a public school in Brazil through the Programa Mais Educação, providing educational support to students, including those with challenging behaviours.

I also spent several years working with vulnerable children and families through YWAM and have experience supporting children with autism, including nonverbal children, using ABA-based strategies.

I’m also a mom to a 15-month-old daughter, which has given me an even deeper understanding of children’s development, routines, and emotional needs.

I genuinely love working with children and believe in creating a safe, loving, patient, and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love spending time outdoors with children! Going for walks, exploring nature, visiting parks and playgrounds, and enjoying the beach are some of my favourite activities.

Indoors, I enjoy reading books, singing, dancing, doing arts and crafts, playing educational games, building puzzles, and baking together!

I also love sensory activities and encouraging children to explore, be creative, and learn through play. As a mom myself, I understand how important it is to choose activities that are age-appropriate, safe, and fun.

Most importantly, I enjoy following each child’s interests, encouraging their curiosity, and making everyday moments special while supporting their development and independence!

The most important part about being a nanny...

As a mom myself, I know how precious our children are and how much trust it takes to leave them in someone else’s care. To me, being a nanny is so much more than just watching children. It’s about making them feel safe, loved, respected, and understood.

I believe children need patience, kindness, consistency, and someone who genuinely enjoys being around them. I love encouraging their curiosity, celebrating their little achievements, and helping them grow into confident, independent individuals.

I also believe in building a trusting relationship with parents, respecting their values and parenting choices, and working together to provide the best possible care.

At the end of the day, what matters most to me is knowing that a child feels happy, secure, and cared for, and that their parents have peace of mind knowing their little one is in loving hands.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience supporting children with autism, including nonverbal children, and have received training in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). My experience includes supporting communication, social skills, emotional regulation, daily routines, and encouraging independence through positive reinforcement and individualized activities.

I have also worked with children experiencing behavioural and emotional challenges, both in educational settings and through my volunteer work with vulnerable children and families.

My background in nursing has given me a strong understanding of health, safety, child development, and the importance of individualized care.
